What are the different types of highlights?

Hair highlighting is choosing the hairs colour you want to achieve , using hair colours to lift the level of natural hair or lowlighting to add depth or just to brighten the all over look or to blend those greys .
Five basic types of highlights are foil highlights ,chunky, frosting, and babylights .
Other techniques are foilayage which is similar to balayage but using foils. Teasy lights.. this is back combing the hair so it creates a softer finish. We have ombré, this is when only the ends are coloured.
Also you could create peek boo pieces with foils this is done under the top layer of hair hidden through out thus creating little sneak through pieces .
Highlights generally last between 2 to 3 months on an average hair growth this will vary depending on a few factors, such as hair care routine, how the highlights are done , ( balayage is a low maintenance look) your hair’s texture, how healthy or damaged your hair is .
Things to consider after having highlights is if your going on holiday in the sun this will lighten the hair further and will also make it more dry. Consider your regrowth ,if your hair is naturally darker and your highlights are bleach your regrowth will be more noticeable.
Always best to discuss these options with a stylist on how you would prefer your highlights and after care.
Blondes always have fun!
