As some of you are aware, we do our own in house training with the support from UK Training and Development. Becky and the team deliver all practical aspects of hair with theory added in and then a team member will assess when the assistant is competent in an area of hairdressing . We then also have UKTD back up the theory and set written exams for our assistants.
This week was an important week as we had an iqa visit. For those of you who do not know what this is, it is an internal quality assurance visit. Becky had been asked to set up a learner for an assessment and she would then be assessed in her role as tutor/assessor.
Isabel had to produce a hair up with added hair, including plaits, knots and twists. Well what can I say. She passed with a distinction, even under these circumstances! The reason why? She went above and beyond what was expected of her. She not only produced a beautiful festival hair up, but had spoken of what the guest should do to maintain her hair, what products to use and making sure her guest was comfortable and happy at all times. Showing that she will be a real asset to the industry when she qualifies later in the year.

As a side note Becky herself recieved top marks with a grade 1 (highest you can achieve)
All in all a great IQA visit.
